Moga Caparica 2026

Praia da Morena, Costa da Caparica

May 29 until May 31, 2026

MOGA Caparica is a boutique electronic music festival on Praia da Morena, 20 minutes south of Lisbon. The 2026 edition runs 27-31 May: two free OFF days across town, then three ticketed days at the main beach site. It's the sixth Portuguese edition since the festival arrived from Essaouira in 2021.

You'll be in a majority-international crowd on a three-stage beach site. Sets start at 15:30 over golden sand under coastal cliffs, with a gentle ocean breeze through afternoon hours and afterparties that run until dawn. On-site reviewers describe the crowd as diverse and respectful - a community MOGA itself calls the #MOGATribe.

Among Portugal's electronic festivals, MOGA leans into house, melodic techno, minimal and disco - a softer, dance-floor register than Neopop's industrial techno or Boom's psytrance. The bill typically pairs international club-circuit names with a strong Portuguese contingent, on a boutique scale rather than a mass-festival one. The 2026 lineup features Ricardo Villalobos, DJ Tennis, Mount Kimbie and Röyksopp.

We're crunching the numbers so you know exactly what to budget for food, drinks, and essentials.

Cashless wristband

MOGA Caparica is 100% cashless. You'll receive a top-up wristband on entry, used for all food, drinks and merchandise on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Opening hours

The festival venue opens at 15:30 each festival day from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 May.

Cloakroom

There is no cloakroom on site. A drop-off point at the entrance is available for items that aren't permitted inside the venue.

MOGA Caparica 2026 splits into two formats. The OFF programme runs Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 May 2026 with free events at venues across Costa da Caparica. The IN festival runs Friday 29 to Sunday 31 May 2026 at Praia da Morena and requires a ticket. Lineups, opening hours and access rules differ between the two.

Lynx tip: Build the OFF days into your trip rather than skipping them. They run on the two days before the ticketed weekend, cost nothing and use venues spread across Costa da Caparica. They are a low-pressure way to find your bearings before the IN gates open at Praia da Morena on Friday.

MOGA sells single-day, two-day and three-day passes, plus a VIP option. Each tier comes in two versions: standard (festival access only) and "+ Afters" (festival access plus the after-parties). VIP includes after-parties, fast entry and backstage access. Tickets are sold via the official site and partners including Shotgun, DICE, Fever and Ticketline.

Lynx tip: If you're considering the late slots on more than one night, the "+ Afters" upgrade is the cheaper route. After-party access cannot be bought separately on the day, so the decision is made at the point of purchase, not at the gate.

The minimum age for MOGA Caparica is 6. Children aged 10 and under enter free of charge. All minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the festival. The rule applies to both the IN festival at Praia da Morena and any OFF events with venue restrictions.

Lynx tip: The early afternoon hours after the gates open are the calmest stretch on site, the closest the festival gets to family-friendly. Crowd density and volume both step up after sunset, so plan an exit before then if you're attending with younger children.

Yes. The OFF programme on 27 and 28 May 2026 is free to enter and does not require a ticket. Events are spread across Costa da Caparica venues, mainly beach bars and clubs. Entry is subject to venue capacity, so arriving early at popular slots is recommended.

Lynx tip: OFF venues are spread out and capacity at each is much smaller than the IN site. If you're prioritising a specific OFF set, check the venue location in advance and arrive at least 30 minutes before the announced start. Popular slots fill before they begin.

MOGA typically publishes the full set times and stage running order in the final two weeks before the festival. The official MOGA channels and the official ticketing partner pages carry the published timetable.

Lynx tip: Save the official set times to your phone before arriving. Mobile signal at Praia da Morena gets patchy once the site is full, and the Frontstage Festivals app mirrors the official running order and works offline.

Yes, since wellness is central to MOGA's identity. Past editions have included morning yoga, surf lessons, a running club, hikes and talks, mostly run as part of the free OFF programme during daytime hours. The 2026 wellness schedule is published closer to the event on the official site.

Lynx tip: The morning yoga and run club sessions tend to be the easiest way to meet other attendees on day one. Both are smaller and lower-stakes than the IN site, and they run before the gates open. Sign-up is usually managed through the official MOGA channels in the days before each session.

MOGA takes place on a beach venue at the end of May. Daytime conditions are warm and sunny with strong afternoon sun. Evenings on the Atlantic coast are noticeably cooler and windier. Bring sun protection (sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat), comfortable footwear for sand and a layer for after dark.

Lynx tip: The temperature drop after sunset at Praia da Morena is the part most first-timers underestimate. A light jacket or a hoodie that packs into a small bag during the day pays off from around 21:00 onward. Closed shoes are easier than sandals once the sand cools.
