NOS Alive 2026

Passeio Marítimo de Algés, Lisbon

Jul 9 until Jul 11, 2026

Running since 2007 on the riverfront at Passeio Marítimo de Algés, NOS Alive is one of Portugal's flagship indie, rock, and alternative festivals. The venue sits on the Tagus estuary just outside central Lisbon, which shapes the festival's "Beach by day, music by night" identity. Programming spans headline touring acts, alternative mainstays, and emerging artists across multiple stages.

Where the beach meets the city. A mainstream, high-energy lineup of global touring acts draws a diverse international crowd across three days. Proximity to central Lisbon keeps the pace fast and the nights long, with fashion-conscious, mixed-age audiences. Expect dense crowds around headliner slots and a programme that rarely lets up.

What sets NOS Alive apart from most European summer festivals is how the Portuguese programming sits alongside the international headliners. The Galp Fado Café has hosted traditional and contemporary fado since 2016, the Comedy Stage has spotlighted Portuguese stand-up since 2014, and smaller stages like Coreto and Pórtico give emerging Portuguese artists a platform. The festival's name is itself a nod to Pearl Jam's "Alive" - the band headlined the first edition in 2007.

Food Court

Four food areas spanning chains (Burger King) to vegan and gluten-free options.

Doors open at 3:00 PM. Arrive 1-2 hours before the first artist to clear security comfortably.

Lynx tip: If you want to see the headliner, arrive 3 hours early or alternatively, use the fan rotation between sets to move closer to the stage right after the previous artist finishes.

Everyone is subject to search and removal of the following forbidden items: Alcoholic drinks, Firearms/bladed weapons, Dangerous objects (pocket knives, metal chains, pointed belts and/or bracelets, etc.), Explosive substances or devices, pyrotechnic articles and fireworks, Any glass or metal bottles, regardless of capacity, Glass objects, cans (drink, perfumes and spray), Toxic substances, drugs, syringes, Selfie sticks and rigid rods, Large posters or posters containing offensive, discriminatory or extremist phrases, Unauthorized communication material (leaflets, flyers and stickers), Lunchboxes, boxes, tupperware and containers, Tents, benches, chairs, chains, ropes and lanterns, Laser pointers, light sticks and flashlights, Helmets, Megaphones, loudspeakers, musical instruments, sound recorders, Laptops, tablets, power banks larger than a regular cell phone, Professional photographic equipment, including large equipment, lenses and tripods, Skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles or similar, Paints, dyes and other related products, Large bags/backpacks (with or without handles) or suitcases, Umbrellas, Animals, with the exception of guide dogs, in compliance with current legislation, Any object that does not fall into these categories and could be thrown or considered dangerous.

Lynx tip: If you carry valuable items with you, leave them at the cloakroom, near the entrance next to the ticket office. Cloakroom cost is €1.

You can pick it at the venue's ticket office, between 10:00 and 23:00 of the day for which you bought the ticket.

Lynx tip: Always bring your ID or if picking the ticket for someone else a written statement with a copy of the ID card, identifying the person authorized to collect the ticket.

Exchange happens inside the venue at the dedicated exchange point, on your first day of attendance. The festival also runs early exchange at C.C. Alegro Alfragide for 3-day pass holders in the days before the festival.

Lynx tip: If you have a 3-day pass, use the Alegro Alfragide early exchange. The first-day queue inside the venue gets long around the pre-headliner rush - early exchange lets you walk straight to the gate with the wristband already on and save you time.

Power banks no larger than a regular mobile phone are allowed. Professional-grade batteries and large power stations are prohibited.

Lynx tip: Security is strict on anything that looks professional. Stick to a 10,000 mAh slim model. Keep it in your hand during the search so it reads as a personal device. If it's bulky, leave it in the cloakroom.

Medical tents are available across the venue. Check the venue map beforehand to locate quieter areas.

Lynx tip: The Comedy Stage is air-conditioned and much calmer and ideal for a reset. If you want space to dance, stay at the very back of the main stage, the sound is still perfect.

Daily ticket holders cannot re-enter. Multi-day pass holders exchange their ticket for a wristband inside the venue, which enables re-entry.

Lynx tip: Re-entry only works when you've exchanged your pass for the wristband — a validated ticket alone isn't enough. Budget extra time on Day 1 to handle the exchange before you plan any re-entry.

You can expect temperatures during the day between 24º and 28º C and at night between 14º and 18º C. Bring sunscreen for the day and a jacket for the evening.

Lynx tip: The festival venue sits next to the river, so do not underestimate the river wind at night. Even on warm Lisbon days, the temperature drops sharply after sunset and humidity climbs near the water. Bring a hoodie to use at night.

A main food court and several beverage stands sit between the main stages and the Heineken tent.

Lynx tip: In Portugal, the coffee line is normally the longest. For a shorter wait, head to the secondary food area past the Heineken stage, near the Coreto. Don't waste the chance to get the typical pastel de nata.

One plastic or reusable plastic bottle up to 50 cl is allowed. The cap must stay on.

Lynx tip: Unlike many festivals, NOS Alive requires the cap to stay on and not the other way around. If you lose yours, free water points around the venue let you refill. Avoid metal or glass bottles, they are confiscated at the gate.

Rigid containers and lunchboxes are not allowed. Small snacks in soft packaging are generally permitted.

Lynx tip: Sandwiches wrapped in foil or paper and small fruit or cereal bars are fine. Tupperware and hard plastic cases will be refused, leave them in the cloakroom or bin them at the gate.

Yes. A Special Access platform is available. Register in advance on the official website and provide a medical certificate.

Lynx tip: Use the dedicated FNAC gate for much faster entry. Pregnant attendees have a specific lounge (Joaquim Chaves Saúde) that is often quieter and more comfortable than the general mobility platforms.
